Sanilac County Community Mental Health is proud to share another donation made via their Casual for a Cause program, this time benefitting the local sheriff’s office Shop with a Hero program.
Chief Program Officer Jamie Reinke and Children’s Supervisor Tabitha Jensen presented the $1,075 donation to Sanilac County Sheriff Paul Rich on Monday, January 5, for the department’s 2025 Shop with a Hero. The Shop with a Hero program sees county first responders serving as heroes as they provide a holiday shopping experience for local children each December.
The money donated by Sanilac CMH employees is obtained through their “Casual for a Cause” fundraiser, where employees are allowed to dress casually every other Friday in exchange for a $3 donation to the “Casual for a Cause” fund, with the understanding that the money would be donated towards initiatives that benefit citizens of Sanilac County.
Sanilac CMH staff create an annual calendar that identifies the recipients of the funds raised. Former recipients include Humane Society, Project Blessing, Veteran’s Administration Relief/Transportation Funds, the Alzheimer’s Association, and PCUPS.
