The City of Marlette will also be holding a council meeting Monday night, with the agenda including a contract approval for local road work, as well as a resolution concerning the purchase of a used police vehicle.

Marlette was awarded $73,440 through the state’s Community Service Infrastructure Fund (CSIF) Category B program for street paving work on Cranbrook and Concord Streets, with the project’s estimated cost being $146,880. Monday night’s approval concerns the contract for the project’s work with engineering firm Fleis and Vadenbrink. Work is slated for completion this year.

Marlette’s council is also being asked to approve the sale of the current Student Resource Officer vehicle, a 2011 Dodge Charger, and replace it with a used 2016 Explorer Interceptor from the Peck Police Department. The vehicle would cost the city $6,000, plus the costs of rebranding the vehicle. The Dodge Charger would be put up for auction, with equipment removed, upon the council’s approval.

The Marlette City Council will meet tonight at 6:00 p.m. at the Marlette City Hall.
