A Kimball Township man has been arrested on an Open Murder charge in the October death of a Port Huron man.
60-year-old Robert Barr of Kimball Township was arrested on the charge on Monday, December 16, a little less than two months after the death of 68-year-old Alvis Miranda.
The charge stems from the evening of October 12, 2025, when an altercation happened between the two men on the Wadhams to Avoca bike path, with Barr allegedly stabbing Miranda. 911 was not immediately called, with the victim making his own way to the hospital while Barr reported the incident to law enforcement after returning home.
About two weeks after the stabbing, on October 28, 2025, Miranda passed away from his injuries at Henry Ford Main Hospital in Detroit.
Barr was recently arraigned in the 72nd District Court, with his bond set at $250,000 cash/surety.
