In addition to making appointments/reappointments to county boards and other end of the year housekeeping matters, the Sanilac County Board of Commissioners recognized Information Systems Director Nancy Rich for more than 20 years of service at their meeting on Tuesday, December 16.
Rich began her career with the county on August 31, 2005 as a part time Information Systems Director before transitioning to the full-time director role in 2016. The resolution, approved on the occasion of Rich’s retirement, recognizes her “dedication, strategic vision and exceptional technical expertise in shaping the county’s technology landscape.”
They also praised her for her close work with multiple county departments to identify and address critical technology needs, which in turn enhanced the county’s technological capability and stability.
Another resolution approved by the commissioners updated the county’s Emergency Telephone Service District Final Plan by changing the name of Sanilac County Emergency Center to the more accurate and current Sanilac County Central Dispatch, as well as removing the disbanded Port Sanilac Police Department from the plan.
The Sanilac County Commissioners meet again in the new year for their organizational meeting on Tuesday, January 6, 2026.
