
A Tuesday morning crash between two vehicles in Watertown Township resulted in five people, including three children, seeking medical treatment.
Sanilac County Central Dispatch was contacted shortly after 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 16, with a report of a two-vehicle personal injury crash on S. Sandusky Road near Miller Road in Watertown Township. Deputies, along with Sandusky Police Department, Sandusky Fire and Sanilac EMS, were dispatched to the scene.
Initial investigation revealed that a 2019 Chevrolet Spark, driven by a 16-year-old Clifford girl, was traveling northbound on S. Sandusky Road. The 16-year-old driver crossed the centerline and proceeded into the path of an southbound 2020 GMC Arcadia, driven by a 22-year-old Sandusky woman who had three minor passengers.
The collision caused the Chevrolet Spark to enter the east ditch of S. Sandusky Road, while the GMC Arcadia came to rest on the northbound shoulder of the roadway.
Both drivers and all three minor passengers were transported by Sanilac EMS to McKenzie Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries. Alcohol and speed are not believed to be contributing factors in the crash.
