The Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce the swearing-in of three new Deputy Sheriffs following their successful graduation from the Oakland Police Academy on Friday, December 12th.

Each of these individuals completed the rigorous academy training after being sponsored by the Sheriff’s Office. Deputy Arlen Stocker of Marlette, Deputy Carter Miller of Marlette, and Deputy Cole McLaughlin of Yale were officially sworn in on Monday, December 15. Their graduation marks the culmination of months of intensive academic instruction, physical training, and hands-on skills development designed to prepare them for the responsibilities of modern law enforcement.

All three Deputies will be assigned to the Uniform Services Division and will begin an intensive Field Training Program. This structured program is designed to further develop their skills, knowledge, and decision-making abilities under the guidance of experienced Field Training Officers, ensuring they are fully prepared for solo law enforcement patrol.

The Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office congratulates Deputies Stocker, Miller, and McLaughlin on this achievement and welcomes them to the organization, with Sheriff Paul Rich commending the three on their dedication and strong commitment to public service.
