The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday that a suspect for at least five home invasions has been arrested.
From November 28th through December 3rd, the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office had taken five home invasion reports across multiple townships in which an unknown delivery driver had been breaking into residences while on his delivery route.
However, deputies were able to locate and arrest their suspect, 32-year-old Deonte King, on Saturday, December 6 after a report of a sixth and seventh home invasion. Deputies were called to the area of Werner Road in Columbus Township after the resident arrived home to find it had been broken into, with multiple unique valuables taken but no one found at the scene.
A “be on the lookout” notice was sent to area law enforcement for the suspect vehicle and individual, with the suspect stopped in a white box truck not far from the home. The Redford man was taken into custody at that time. Detectives were able to match most of the recovered stolen goods for return to their rightful owners.
King was arraigned in 72nd District Court on December 9, 2025 for six felony counts, including one count of first degree home invasion and six counts of second degree home invasion. Bond was set at $200,000 cash/surety.
St. Clair County Sheriff Mat King urges residents to keep their doors and windows locked, especially when they are not home. If they notice someone acting suspiciously, community members are urged to call 911. Though delivery drivers are obviously out in abundance this time of year, it is still important that residents keep track of when they are (and are not) expecting a delivery.
