
A Friday morning accident seriously injured a 23-year-old Marlette man, according to the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office.
Sanilac County Central Dispatch was called around 2:30 a.m. on Friday, November 7, 2025, receiving a report of a vehicle in the ditch with significant damage on West Sanilac Road near Wheeler Road in Elmer Township. Deputies, along with the Moore Township Fire Department and Sanilac EMS, were dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, deputies located a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado that had sustained severe damage as a result of a crash. The initial investigation indicates the vehicle was traveling eastbound when it left the roadway to the south and entered the ditch.
After a brief search of the area, personnel from the Moore Township Fire Department located the driver, a 23-year-old man from Marlette, who had been ejected from the vehicle. The driver sustained serious injuries and was transported by Sanilac EMS to McKenzie Health System in Sandusky. He was later airlifted by U of M FlightCare to Hurley Medical Center in Flint for further treatment.
The crash remains under investigation.
