
Croswell Police are investigating a death that occurred Tuesday evening at the Michigan Sugar Piling ground.
Croswell Police responded to the piling ground around 6:08 p.m. on Tuesday, November 4, due to a report of a worker being struck by a payloader. When first responders arrived, they located the worker, a 41-year-old Croswell man, who had suffered life threatening injuries. Despite emergency personnel attempting life-saving measures, the man ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
Croswell Police are conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident, with the cooperation of Michigan Sugar’s Safety Department. Additional information may be released as it becomes available.
Other agencies assisting at the scene were Croswell EMS, Croswell Fire, the Lexington Police Department, the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office, the Sanilac County Medical Examiner’s Office and the Michigan Sugar Safety Department.
