A two-vehicle crash in Lexington Township on Saturday evening resulted in four people injured.

Sanilac County Central Dispatch was contacted around 11:53 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, with a report of a two-vehicle personal injury traffic crash at the intersection of E. Peck Road and Wildcat Road in Lexington Township. Deputies, along with the Croswell Fire Department and Croswell EMS, were dispatched to the scene.

Initial investigation determined that a 2013 Ford Fusion, operated by an 80-year-old Lapeer woman, was traveling northbound on Wildcat Road and failed to stop at the stop sign. The vehicle entered the intersection and was subsequently struck by an oncoming 2014 Dodge Ram pickup operated by a 19-year-old Croswell man traveling westbound. The force of the collision caused the Ford Fusion to continue into a field on the northeast corner of the intersection before coming to rest, while the Dodge Ram came to rest within the roadway.

Both drivers, along with two passengers in the Ford Fusion — a 32-year-old Lexington man and a 26-year-old Mayville woman — were treated on scene and later transported to McLaren Port Huron Hospital by Croswell EMS for additional evaluation. Neither drugs nor alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash.

All occupants were wearing seatbelts, and airbags deployed in both vehicles. The names of those involved are not being released at this time, as the investigation remains ongoing.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Lexington Police Department.
