Alcohol and/or other intoxicants are believed to be involved in a three-vehicle crash in Tuscola County Thursday afternoon.
Tuscola County Sheriff deputies were dispatched shortly before 1:10 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2025, to the area of West Bay City-Forestville Road/M-25 and Rogers Road for a three-car collision.
Initial investigation indicated that two westbound vehicles, a Jeep Grand Cherokee and a Mercedes Benz, were overtaking a semi-truck, when, after overtaking the semi, an alleged “road rage” incident occurred. The driver of the Jeep Grand Cherokee, a 25-year-old woman from Pigeon, attempted to pass the Mercedes Benz being driven by a 56-year-old Bay City woman on the shoulder of the road, but the two vehicles collided with each other.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee lost control and entered the eastbound lane before striking an eastbound Subaru, driven by a 36-year-old Bay City man. The man had to be extricated from his vehicle by the Akron Fire Department and transported by Flight Care for serious injuries. The 25-year-old driver of the Jeep Grand Cherokee was arrested on scene, with alcohol and/or other intoxicants believed to be a factor.
The crash remains under investigation and all information is subject to change. Sheriff deputies were assisted on scene by Michigan State Police, Akron Fire, Fairgrove Fire, ACW Ambulance, Flight Care, and D&J Towing.
