The Village of Peck is proud to announce that Christine Risdon, village treasurer and clerk, has successfully completed the Michigan Municipal Treasurers Association’s (MMTA) Basic Institute.

This comprehensive 100-hour course, taught over three years, covers essential topics including public finance, governmental accounting, cash management, investing, debt management, internal controls, ethics, state laws, financial reporting, revenue collections, public budgeting, technology, disaster preparedness, personnel management, communications, organizational management, and more. The MMTA Basic Institute provides a strong foundation for public treasurers and offers valuable opportunities to connect with a network of municipal finance professionals throughout Michigan.

Christine’s achievement ensures she is well-prepared to oversee all aspects of the Village’s treasury function, reinforcing the village’s commitment to responsible financial stewardship for Peck’s residents.

Christine began her service with the Village of Peck in 2020 as treasurer, and in 2024 she expanded her role to serve as both treasurer and clerk. She will continue to build her expertise by attending the MMTA Advanced Institute in the spring and participating in the Michigan Association of Municipal Clerks Institute (MAMC), further enhancing her ability to serve her community.
