A Tuscola County man is set to go on trial later this month on 30 charges related to aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material.

James Arthur Goudie, 24 of Fairgrove, is set for a jury trial on Tuesday, October 28. Goudie, who was arrested this past June by the Michigan State Police, faces five counts of child sexually abusive activity – aggravated distributing/promoting, 10 counts child sexually abusive material – aggravated possession, and 15 counts of using a computer to commit a crime.

The charges stem from activities beginning in July 2024, with an investigation initiated when it was learned that Goudie was sharing files of child sexually abusive material on the internet. Digital evidence was seized from his home at the time of his arrest.

He is still being held on a $200,000 cash/surety bond. Goudie attempted this past summer to have his bond modified, but had the attempt denied by visiting judge Donald Teeple, who previously served Sanilac County as circuit court judge for 30 years.

Goudie will appear before Tuscola County Circuit Court Judge Amy Gierhart at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 28.
