The St. Clair County Sheriff Drug Task Force concluded multiple investigations last week, leading to the arrests of three subjects.

The St. Clair County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant on Wednesday, September 17, around 5:00 p.m. at a home on Abbotsford Road in Clyde Township. The search located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, which was seized. 73-year-old John Ross was arrested during this time, being charged with two felonies: possession of methamphetamine and maintaining a drug house.

Later that same evening at 6:30 p.m., the task force executed a second search warrant at a home on Kilgore Road in Wales Township, locating and seizing methamphetamine, packaging materials, scales, and ammunition. 64-year-old John Fiks and 56-year-old Theresa Vanerp were arrested at this time, both being charged with three felonies each.

While Fiks was charged with possession with intent to distribute, possession of ammunition by a prohibited person and maintaining a drug house, Vanerp was charged with tampering with evidence, possession of methamphetamine and maintaining a drug house.

The Drug Task Force continues its commitment to the community to not only remove narcotics from the streets, but to get to the root of the issue by arresting those distributing the drugs.
