
The Sanilac County Sheriff’s Department was busy this weekend, handling three separate vehicle incidents over the two day period.
Sanilac County Central Dispatch was first contacted on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at approximately 9:50 a.m., receiving a report of a two-vehicle injury crash on Marlette Road near Ruth Road in Buel Township. Sanilac County Sheriff’s Deputies, the Applegate Fire Department, and Sanilac EMS were dispatched to the scene.
Initial investigation determined that a 2009 Pontiac G6, driven by a 77-year-old woman from Imlay City, was traveling east on Marlette Road when the driver lost control and struck a westbound tractor hauling a trailer, operated by a 28-year-old Marlette man. The 77-year-old woman was transported to McKenzie Health Systems for treatment of her injuries, while the man was not injured.
Alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to be factors in this crash. Names are being withheld at this time, as the incident remains under investigation.
Sanilac County Central Dispatch was contacted again on Saturday, September 20, this time shortly before 2:00 p.m., due to a report of a tractor rollover on Huron County Line Road near Burgess Road in Delaware Township. Sanilac County Sheriff’s Deputies, the Delaware Fire Department, and Sanilac EMS were dispatched to the scene.
Initial investigation determined that an LS tractor, operated by a 66-year-old Bad Axe man, was traveling west on Huron County Line Road along the south shoulder when it left the roadway and overturned into the ditch. The operator and a passenger—a 35-year-old Minden City man who was riding in the bucket—were both injured. Both individuals were treated on scene by Delaware Township Fire and Sanilac EMS before being transported to Aspire Rural Health System’s Deckerville Hospital.
Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash, with names being withheld due to the ongoing investigation.
The weekend incidents concluded on Sunday, September 21, with Sanilac County Central Dispatch contacted shortly before 7:20 a.m. with a report of a milk tanker rollover on Robinson Road near Van Dyke Road in Evergreen Township. Sanilac County Sheriff’s deputies, the Argyle Fire Department, and Cass City MMR were dispatched to the scene.
Initial investigation determined that a 2023 Kenworth semi-truck with a milk tanker, operated by a 39-year-old Cass City man, was traveling west on Robinson Road when it entered the north ditch and overturned. The driver was treated on scene by Argyle Fire and Cass City MMR before being transported to Cass City Hills & Dales Hospital.
Alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash. Names are being withheld at this time, as the incident remains under investigation.
