
A domestic disturbance resulted in a fatal shooting Wednesday night, according to the Port Huron Police.
Port Huron Police Officers responded shortly after 11:20 p.m. on Wednesday, September 3, to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 1400 block of 10th Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located a 23-year-old man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the abdomen. Officers immediately initiated CPR and other life-saving measures until Tri-Hospital EMS arrived on scene.
The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
The Port Huron Major Crimes Unit, along with Port Huron Police Detectives and the Michigan State Police Crime Lab, responded to process the scene and assist with the investigation. Following a preliminary review of the incident, a 40-year-old woman was taken into custody and lodged at the St. Clair County Jail.
An 11-year-old child was also present at the residence during the incident and was found unharmed.
