Due to the resignation of District 5 commissioner Robert Fielitz last Friday, August 29, the St. Clair County Board of Commissioners is seeking his successor.

With this in mind, all interested parties who reside within District 5 (which encompasses the City of St. Clair and the Townships of East China, Kimball and St. Clair) should submit a letter of interest and/or a resume for consideration to the County Clerk at 201 McMorran Blvd, Port Huron, MI 48060, no later than noon on Friday, September 12, 2025. This information can also be e-mailed to citizens@stclaircounty.org.

A special meeting to receive the applications and define the appointment process will be held on September 12. Once the County Clerk verifies that all applicants meet the residence eligibility requirements, interviews of selected candidates are anticipated to occur on September 16 and/or 17, 2025.

Questions should be directed to the County Clerk’s office at 810-985-2200.
