
The Michigan State Police (MSP) Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force is announcing the arrest and arraignment of two Port Huron Men for aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material.
Jacob Edward Eagle, 33, was arrested following an investigation in which digital evidence was seized from his possession. The investigation was initiated after the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) received an allegation of potential violations by Eagle, who is on probation. Eagle was arraigned in the 72nd District Court on Tuesday, August 26, and was charged with three counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material and one count of using a computer.
Meanwhile, Garrison Lowell Smith Jr, 20 of Port Huron, was arrested following an investigation in which digital evidence was seized from his home. The investigation was initiated when it was learned that Smith Jr was sharing files of child sexually abusive material on the internet. Smith Jr. was arraigned in 72 District Court on Friday, August 22, being charged with the following: one count of child sexually abusive activity – aggravated distributing/promoting, one count of child sexually abusive material – aggravated possession, and one count of using a computer to commit a crime.
Both will appear again in court on Tuesday, September 2, for their probable cause conferences.
