
No one was injured after a child accidentally fired a firearm at a Croswell soccer practice Wednesday evening.
Sanilac County Central Dispatch received multiple calls around 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 13, reporting a firearm was discharged in the area of Flower Street in the city of Croswell.
Initial investigation revealed that a Worth Township woman with a valid concealed pistol license had her children at soccer practice. During the practice, her firearm was accessible to a small child. The child was able to locate and handle the firearm and inadvertently fire a live round.
There were no injuries or victims in this incident. Alcohol was not a factor.
Names are being withheld at this time, as the incident remains under investigation. Charges will be forwarded to the Sanilac County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
