A 67-year-old Macomb County man has been arrested for allegedly drugging and sexually assaulting a woman, and investigators fear he’s victimized others.

St. Clair County Sheriff’s deputies were called to an apartment complex in Fort Gratiot Township late last Saturday night after a woman arrived at a neighbor’s home disoriented, stating she had been drugged and sexually assaulted. The victim was transported to McLaren Port Huron for treatment.

After speaking to the caller and victim, it was determined that the victim appeared to have been drugged and advised she had been sexually assaulted. It was later discovered that photos were taken of her without her knowledge relating to the incident.

Members of the Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol and Detective Bureau arrived at the scene where 67-year-old Charles Fouts Jr. of Lenox Township was still on location. He was interviewed and subsequently arrested without incident. During the investigation, it was discovered there is a possibility of more victims, with Fouts and the woman having met recently on a dating app.

Fouts is charged with three felonies: first degree criminal sexual conduct; capturing/distributing an image of an unclothed person; and using a computer to commit a crime. He was denied bond at arraignment on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 with the possibility of additional charges.

If you believe you or someone you know may have been a victim of Fouts, please call investigators at (810) 987-1726.
