The Caro city council is seeking applications to fill a seat left vacant by the July 7 resignation of council member Greg Hutchison.
The candidate appointed to the seat would serve out the rest of Hutchison’s term and until the November 2026 election. According to the city’s charter, the vacancy must be filled by appointment within 60 days from the date the vacancy occurred.
Interested residents of the City of Caro who meet the eligibility requirements are encouraged to apply. To be eligible, candidates will need to be a Caro resident for a minimum of one year, be a registered elector of the city prior to their appointment, and not be in default to the city. All letters of interest must be sent or delivered to City of Caro, Attn: Rita Papp, City Clerk, 317 S. State Street, Caro, MI 48723 or emailed to: rpapp@carocity.net.
