Two people were injured Friday evening after a minivan crashed through a restaurant’s wall, Sebewaing Police report.
Sebewaing Area Ambulance, Sebewaing Police and the Sebewaing Fire Department were dispatched to the Lamplighter Restaurant shortly before 6:00 p.m. on Friday, July 18, in response to a report of a vehicle colliding with the establishment.
Emergency responders learned at the scene that a Fairgrove woman had driven her Toyota Minivan through the restaurant’s front wall, striking patrons seated in the dining area. Two people were knocked from their seats and had sustained minor injuries, which were treated on scene.
The crash was attributed to driver error.
In addition to assisting first responders, restaurant patrons also helped business employees clean up the mess, board up and secure the building, allowing the restaurant to open in the morning for breakfast service despite the damage.
