One driver was injured during a rollover crash involving a fuel truck and a passenger vehicle Tuesday morning in Watertown Township.
Sanilac County Central Dispatch was contacted shortly before 8:50 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8, with a report of a rollover crash involving two vehicles at the intersection of South Sandusky Road and French Line Road in Watertown Township. Sheriff’s deputies, Sandusky Fire Department, and Sanilac EMS responded to the scene.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a black 2020 Buick Enclave, driven by a 37-year-old Sandusky man, was traveling eastbound on French Line Road when it failed to stop at the posted stop sign. The Buick entered the intersection and struck a northbound fuel truck behind the rear tires. The impact caused the Buick to spin off the roadway and roll over, eventually coming to rest in a yard on the northeast corner of the intersection.
The driver of the Buick sustained injuries and was transported by Sanilac EMS to McLaren Hospital in Port Huron. The driver of the fuel truck, a 64-year-old man, was not injured and was able to drive the truck from the scene.
The incident remains under investigation by the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office.
