The Sanilac County Historic Village and Museum are proud to present this Friday a Candlelight Concert featuring Turkish classical and flamenco guitarist Mert Sela.

The concert will take place on Friday, July 11, from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. at the Museum grounds, located at 228 S Ridge St., Port Sanilac, MI. Mert Sela, a native of Turkey and now a St. Clair, Michigan resident, studied at Kocaeli University and has been performing for decades.

His masterful command of classical and flamenco guitar brings elegance and emotional depth to every note. Guests will enjoy his captivating performance under the soft flicker of candlelight, transforming the museum’s historic grounds into a truly magical atmosphere.

Tickets are just $10 per person, thanks to generous funding from Michigan Humanities, which supports accessible arts and humanities experiences across the state. The Candlelight Concert is part of the Sanilac County Historical Society’s initiative to enrich the region by making cultural experiences available to all.

The Sanilac County Historical Society receives no state, county, or village funding. Revenue from events like this concert helps support the 10-acre campus, which includes 17 historic buildings, and covers essential costs like payroll, utilities, and repairs. Beyond the performance, the evening provides a unique opportunity for guests to become part of the museum’s mission—as members, donors, or volunteers.

The Sanilac County Historic Village & Museum is located at 228 S. Ridge St (M25) in Port Sanilac. For more information, visit www.sanilaccountymuseum.org or on Facebook at “Sanilac County Historic Village & Museum”, or call the office at 810.622.9946.
