Sanilac County, Mich. – McKenzie Health System is proud to welcome Central Michigan University College of Medicine student Erin Williams, who will be completing a 20-week clinical rotation alongside Dr. James Sams at the McKenzie Health and Wellness Clinic beginning June 30.
Erin, originally from Woodstock, Georgia, earned her bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from Georgia Tech. As part of CMU’s Comprehensive Community Clerkship program, she will gain valuable hands-on experience in rural medicine while assisting in the care of patients throughout Sanilac County.
Outside of medicine, Erin enjoys traveling, gymnastics, and cheering for both NFL and college football, even when her favorite teams let her down.
The Comprehensive Community Clerkship program places students in underserved rural and urban communities across Michigan, offering exposure to a wide range of specialties including primary care, pediatrics, women’s health, emergency medicine, inpatient care, and surgical care.
“At McKenzie, we are honored to support the next generation of physicians,” said Steve Barnett, President and CEO of McKenzie Health System. “Hosting medical students like Erin not only strengthens the future of healthcare but also reinforces our commitment to advancing rural medicine and delivering exceptional care to our community.”
We thank our patients and providers for their continued support in shaping the future of healthcare. Opportunities like this are an essential part of a student’s journey toward becoming a skilled, compassionate physician.
