Marlette, Port Sanilac VFWs plan Memorial Day cemetery ceremonies

Several area cemeteries and organizations will be holding Memorial Day ceremonies next Monday, May 26.

Marlette VFW Post 4837 plans to render honors at local cemeteries, having a parade in Marlette afterwards. A brief ceremony will happen at each, with a longer ceremony at Marlette cemetery after the parade. The parade will begin at 11 a.m. at the South stoplight in Marlette, at the corner of Euclid and Main Streets.

The cemeteries that the Marlette VFW will be visiting are:

  • the St. Patrick’s Cemetery at 7:15 a.m.;
  • Siple Cemetery at 7:30 a.m.;
  • Moshier Cemetery at 8:15 a.m.;
  • Germania Cemetery at 9:00 a.m.;
  • Juhl Cemetery at 9:30 a.m.;
  • Flynn and Kerr Cemetery at 9:45 a.m. and
  • McLeish Cemetery at 10:00 a.m.

Meanwhile, the Port Sanilac VFW Post 8872 will be holding Memorial Day services at the following times and places:

  • 9:00 a.m. at Pine Hill Cemetery,
  • 9:15 a.m. at Ridge Cemetery,
  • 9:30 a.m. at St. John Cemetery,
  • 10:00 a.m. at Washington Cemetery,
  • 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Cemetery on M-46, and
  • 11:00 a.m. at the Port Sanilac Cemetery.

Deckerville’s Hillside Cemetery will also be holding a ceremony on Monday, May 26, at 1:00 p.m.
