Huron Central Dispatch received a call around 1:20 p.m. on Monday, May 12, reporting two fishermen with a disabled boat, west of Heisterman Island on Saginaw Bay in Fairhaven Township.
The caller advised dispatch that one of the fishermen, a Cass City man, had dislocated their hip while trying to restart the boat.
The Huron County Sheriff’s Office, armed with their airboat and assisted by the Caseville Fire Department, headed for the Mud Creek Public Access and out onto the water. The injured man was taken back to shore, and taken via ambulance to Scheurer Hospital for treatment.
