A new live album from Janis Ian is coming in June.
The legendary singer/songwriter will release Janis Ian – From Me To You: Live In Bremen 2004, a 90-minute concert recorded in Bremen, Germany, on Oct. 4, 2004.
The concert features just Ian and her guitar, performing her classic tracks like “Jesse,” “At Seventeen” and “Society’s Child.”
“That night in Bremen, it didn’t matter that the audience spoke little English, and I spoke no German,” Ian shares. “Nights like this reinforce my belief that this world could be a peaceful place. Ultimately, what matters is kindness. Empathy. Understanding.”
She adds, “Within the framework of different cultures, different languages, even different beliefs, music is the great unifier. It’s one of the reasons I love being a singer/songwriter.”
Janis Ian – From Me To You: Live In Bremen 2004 will be released on double CD June 6 and is available for preorder now.
