In addition to granting the SAVE Council permission to use the Diamond Trail Park for their annual Glow Walk on June 26, the Sandusky City Council met Monday, May 5, to discuss ordinances and fee schedules related to the cemetery.

City Ordinance No. 2025-04 reworks the previous cemetery ordinances to accommodate for state law changes, as well as the addition of columbariums to Greenwood Cemetery. The fee schedule, as recommended by the city’s cemetery board, features an increase of $25 on the price of lot sales per grave and an increase to the cost of renting the cemetery’s chapel.

The city council also approved putting out a request for proposal for municipal attorney services. With the city’s previous legal counsel leaving the area, Sandusky city council is looking for qualified attorneys or law firms to provide municipal legal services, in such areas as blight enforcement, Freedom of Information Act compliance, election guidance, zoning and land use, and general municipal law. Proposals are due to Sandusky City Hall by 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.
