Sanilac County law enforcement collects 190 lbs of unwanted prescriptions during National Drug Take Back Day

Local law enforcement in Sanilac County once again participated in the DEA sponsored National Drug Take Back Day, held on Saturday, April 26th.

Over 190 pounds of unused, unwanted, or expired prescriptions were collected in Sanilac County and turned over to the DEA.

The Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office collected 64 pounds at their drop box, while Marlette PD collected 47.2 pounds, Croswell PD collected 30.8 pounds, and Lexington PD collected 24.4 pounds. Meanwhile, Brown City PD collected 10 pounds, Deckerville Healthcare collected 8.8 pounds and Peck PD collected 5.2 pounds as part of their efforts.

These locations all have year round drop boxes that can be utilized during normal business hours.

The Sanilac County Drug Task Force, DEA and local police departments thank you for doing your part in safely disposing of your unused/ unwanted medications.
