A crash involving a fuel truck and a deer last Friday claimed the life of a Harbor Beach woman, Huron County authorities report.
Investigators say that, on December 15, 58-year-old Michele Grekowicz was driving a farm fuel truck on M-25 in Port Austin Township when a deer crossed the road in front of her.
While the truck did hit the deer, investigators believe the woman attempted to avoid the collision, swerving but ultimately crashing into a ditch. Grekowicz was thrown from the truck and later pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigation into the crash continues.
