In addition to approving a non-expiring contract between the county sheriff’s department and Elk Township for law enforcement services, the Sanilac County Board of Commissioners will be using their meeting today, Tuesday, June 6, to appoint four new members to the Sanilac Transport Board.
With the plan to appoint all four interviewees, the board will be interviewing Rae Ann Kreiner, Kellie Paehlig and Kimberly Thompson, with fourth applicant Stacy Deriso unavailable during the afternoon meeting. The two-year term being interviewed for will end June 1, 2025.
Meanwhile, the board also plans to appoint Linda Dumaw, District 3 Representative for the Council on Aging, to a partial three-year term ending December 31, 2025.
In terms of courthouse and county upgrades on the agenda this week, the board of commissioners will be asked to authorize an equipment upgrade for the county’s central dispatch, as well as authorizing the buying and installation of a bulletproof glass window for the Friend of the Court’s front office.
The board will also be approving the county’s taxable value report at the Finance and Administration Committee meeting following today’s 1:00 p.m. main meeting, another step in the annual equalization process for Sanilac County.
