St. Clair County traffic stop helps MSP seize almost 2000 fentanyl pills

A traffic stop in St. Clair County by Michigan State Police officers on Tuesday, January 3, helped conclude part of an ongoing drug investigation in Macomb County.
Learning during the holidays that fentanyl was being sold under the guise of oxycodone pills, an investigation was launched by the state police’s County of Macomb Enforcement Team (or COMET). Following this Tuesday’s traffic stop involving the main suspect, police sought and executed a search warrant on his Macomb Township home based on previous investigation findings and new details from the stop.
Seized in the search was nearly 2,000 pills believed to be fentanyl, as well as 30 grams of cocaine, two vehicles and $6,000.
The investigation is ongoing, with charges pending against the suspect. Agencies assisting in the investigation included the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office, the Roseville Police Department, and Michigan State Troopers from the Lapeer Post.
