At its March annual conference, the state’s athletic directors’ association – the MIAAA – presented a Dedicated Service Award to Sandusky Community School’s Athletic Director Al DeMott. The longtime Athletic Director and girls basketball Coach at Sandusky was recognized for his 30 years of service as an athletic director to the district.

Superintendent Paul Flynn said, “The district is extremely proud of Al’s continued dedication to the student athletes and coaches, past and present, at SCS.  He is truly deserving of this special recognition.”

Along with his highly successful girls basketball program that has brought numerous league, district and regional titles, as well as an appearance in the State Finals, DeMott is kept busy performing Athletic Director duties including scheduling and re-scheduling games, have game managers available during contest and many other duties.

DeMott will be the first to tell you that it takes an army of people to make a successful athletic program and that he has worked with many people, including current staff and administration to help make Sandusky an outstanding athletic program.

Congratulations to Coach/A.D. Al Demott on receiving this award.
