GIRLS (Thursday Results)

Sandusky 32, Bad Axe 30 – Game of the Night on WBGV 92.5 FM –The Sandusky Lady Redskins improved to 3-0 with a 32-30 over Bad Axe. The Redskins trailed in the 3rd quarter 23-10 before rallying to pull out the victory. A 3-pointer from Abby Trepkowski along the baseline tied the game at 30-30 and then, with just 17 seconds left in regulation, Sandusky’s Brooke Jansen nailed a couple of free throws to provide the winning points. Morgan Taege led the Redskins with 8 points Jenna Steeb came off the bench to score 7 and Brooke Jansen added 6 points. Katherine Himmel led Bad Axe with a game-high 15 points. The Lady Redskins finished the game on a 22-7 run in the second half to pull out the dramatic win.

Reese 58, Harbor Beach 38 – Maddie Osantowski tossed in 21 points to lead the winners while Emily Bucholz scored 15 and Paoige Anderson added 11 for the Lady Pirates

Caro 50, Ubly 34 – Adelyn Moore led all scorers with22 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to pace the Lady Tigers to victory.

Yale 41, Brown City 25 – Abby Dykstra had 15 points to lead Yale, and all scorers in the non-conference game

Kingston 53, Marlette 39 – Gabby Martinex scored 11 points for Marlette in a losing casuse. Kingston outscored their opponents 32-22 in th e second half.

Port Huron 45, New Baltimore Anchor Bay 29 – Iliana Williams had 10 points while Julia Gilbert had 9 points and 7 blocks as the Big Reds picked up the win.

Port Huron Northern 39, Romeo 30 – Shannon Fealko netted 14 to lead Northern to victory

Marine City 73, Eastpointe 10 – Layleah Comment fired in 17 points to spark the Lady Mariners to the lopsided win

HS GIRLS BASKETBALL

Sandusky 62, Caro 53 – The Sandusky Lady Redskins traveled to Caro and improved to 2-0 with a 62-53 win over the Lady Tigers. Morgan Taege led the way for the Redskins with 19 points & 3 steals, Emmy Bender added 13 points6 rebounds 4 assists, Brooke Jansen 11 points 6 rebounds 3 steals and 3 assists, Madison Long 9 points and 3 steals. Adelyn Moore led cAro with a game high 19 points and Jacki Peters had 13 points.  sandusky will be at home tomorrow evening – Thursday, to host Bad Axe in a GTC crossover showdown at the Mark S Hund gymnasium. The game will be broadcast on 92.5 FM WBGV beginning around 6:45 p.m.

Bad Axe 48, North Huron 27 Kathrine Himmel pumped in 12 points and Kate Clancy added 11 for the winners

Cass City 49, Ubly 30 – Saylar Cuthrell had 23 points for the winners

Harbor Beach 66, Unionville-Sebewaing 32 – Paige Anderson had 22 points for Harbor Beach in their opener while Mariah Jahn and Karlee Guza added 10 points apiece.

Deckerville 31, Peck 12 – The Lady Eagles jumped out in front 13-1 after the first quarter and never looked back in picking up the win. Karly Kappen led the winners with 15 points and Shelby Flanagan added eight points.

Carsonville-Port Sanilac 25, Kimball Landmark 23 – Layla Blythe-Davis hit the game-winning shot as time expired to give the Lady Tigers a thrilling victory. Davis led her team with eight points in the win.

BOYS

CROSWELL-LEXINGTON 81, HARBOR BEACH 38 – Trey Kolakovich fired in 24 points, Zack Koretch netted 16 and Jake Townsend chipped in with 11 to spark the Pioneers to the lopsided non-conference win over the Piates. The winners raced out to a 23-9 first quarter lead, were on top 47 to 18 at the half and in full control after three quarters, leading 72-28. Grant Smiglenski led Harbor Beach scoring with 24 points.
