Raises all around for Imlay City staff

(LAPEER COUNTY) – Imlay City employees received good news from former City Manager Tom Youatt, prior to his retiring from his position with the city at the end of last month.
City Commission members agreed to give employees raises, ranging from 2% to 10% effective with the 2020-2021 fiscal year.
Noting her longevity with the city, Youatt recommended a 10% increase for the City’s bookkeeper while the City’s WWTP and DPW Superintendents will be awarded 8% increases each.
Members of the city’s two unions, police officers and firefighters, will received 2.5% raises and the DDA Director will get a 2% increase, raising the salary to nearly $43,000 dollars.
Imlay City’s Clerk/Treasurer will see a raise making the salary around $64,500 dollars.
Had Youatt continued with his City Manager position, he would have been making just over $99,000 after receiving a 4% raise.
