(SANILAC COUNTY) – Ideal weather conditions have led to road work in Sanilac County proceeding as planned.
Road Commission officials say the weather and competitive pricing on local jobs has resulted in work being completed and at times, under budget.
Ruth Road, from M-46 north to the County Line has been one of the largest projects for Sanilac County, coming in with a cost of around $1.3 million dollars.
Sanilac County’s share of the 10 mile project was around $265,000 dollars with federal funds accounting for the balance.
Among other work planned in Sanilac County, Deckerville Road, from Sheldon Road to the village limits is to see new pavement treatment at a cost of $770,000 dollars while Stilson Road, from M-19 to Brown Road will also be improved, costing $474,000 dollars.
Funding, in part, for the projects comes from a county-wide millage, along with State and Federal funding.
