Woman injured in Brown City crash

One person was injured in a two-vehicle accident in Sanilac County’s Maple Valley Township on Saturday. According to the Sanilac County Sheriff Department, a 2017 Ford Escape driven by a 65-year old Brown City man was traveling north on Maple Valley and stopped at the railroad tracks around noon. A 2020 Chevy Pickup driven by a 33-year old Brown City man was also traveling north and failed to stop in time, striking the Escape in the back end. Deputies say the driver of the pickup said he was having maintenance issues and could not stop in time. A 62-year old Brown City female passenger in the car was treated at the scene and later transported to McLaren Regional Hospital for further treatment of injuries. The incident remains under investigation.
