Armada schools custodian arrested after alleged terrorist threat

A janitor at Armada Elementary School has been arrested for allegedly making a terrorist threat. State Police troopers were called

to the school Thursday after a witness reported that during a conversation, the custodian stated that he was bored and should ‘go to a local business with an AK and 12 rounds.’ Armada school officials said the custodian made the comment in front of a colleague while working at one of the schools in the district. He thought he was making a joke, but it was threatening in nature, officials said. Police interviewed the subject and placed him under arrest. A search of his home resulted in the seizure of a semi-automatic long gun and a pistol. Michigan State Police remind citizens that any type of threat, even if it’s intended as a joke, is a crime and will be investigated. The incident remains under investigation.
