(SANDUSKY) – Sanilac County Sheriff Garry Biniecki is proud to announce Sergeant Steve McKenney has been assigned to the
Detective Sergeant’s position in the Detective Bureau. D/Sergeant McKenney will take on the role as the Sheriff’s Office’s lead investigator, along with managing the Detective Bureau, its’ investigations and coordinating investigative services with the Drug Task Force.
D/Sergeant McKenney has been with the Sheriff’s Office for 21 years and has held many positions within the Office, such as; Corrections Deputy, Uniform Services Deputy, Uniform Services Sergeant, Drug Task Force Investigator, Drug Task Force Supervisor, Firearms Instructor/Supervisor and Special Response Team.
He has also conducted numerous presentations and trainings on Narcotics Awareness, Active Shooter and (A.L.I.C.E.) response and preparedness.
He is a life-long Sanilac County resident and resides in the Marlette area with his wife Michele and their two children.
Sheriff Biniecki stated, “This new assignment for D/Sgt. McKenney is sure to offer him new opportunities and challenges as we continue to move forward as a team in assisting the public”.
