North Branch woman facing felony counts

(LAPEER COUNTY) – A North Branch woman has been charged with felony fraud following a complaint from an Isabella County business in December.
Following an investigation that started earlier this year, Lorie Stuer, 47, was charged with nine counts of felony fraud dating back to 2011.
According to detectives, the Isabella County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint from a business in Remus. Stuer is one of the owners of Stoney Creek Trucking in North Branch.
Investigators say they discovered Stuer had allegedly falsified invoices and fraudulently billed Bandit for shipping with fraud reportedly in excess of $3.6 million dollars.
