UPDATE: Body of missing Cass City man found

A massive search by for a missing 21-year old Cass City man has ended tragically. Huron County Sheriff Kelly Hanson said around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, deputies aboard an airboat from the Huron County Sheriff Department discovered the body of Parker Haire in the Sebewaing River. He had been reported missing after contacting 911 a day earlier. Personnel from multiple agencies across the county, including a helicopter from the U.S. Coast Guard, had frantically searched for Haire since early Tuesday morning. He had called Tuscola County 911 saying he was cold and wet, could see a factory and was in trouble. Dispatch lost contact with him but later plotted his phone location to be out on the point of the Sebewaing River. Fire, EMS and law enforcement officials responded, using a drone and airboat to assist in the search. Haire’s Jeep was found stuck in mud near the Michigan Sugar Plant later Tuesday, before police called off the search at nightfall. The incident remains under investigation.
