Man Arrested After Attack on Homeowner

A 41-year old Bruce Township man was arrested after a report of shots being fired during a domestic disturbance in Berlin Township. St. Clair County Sheriff Deputies responded around 11:30 p.m. Saturday to a home on Tubspring Road where a 48-year-old woman told deputies the suspect had assaulted her and then left with a handgun, firing shots at a vehicle in the yard before running off into the woods. Police received a second call from the residence after 2 a.m. Sunday saying the suspect had returned and was trying to enter the house by force. The Special Response Team later arrested the man without incident after a robot found him in a basement. He is facing multiple charges and is lodged in the St. Clair County jail. Law enforcement agencies from Lapeer County, Dryden and Imlay City assisted at the scene.
