1,300 people without power Monday

(SANILAC COUNTY) – Residents in the Brown City area were in the dark Monday evening for a period of time., after there was a problem at a nearby sub-station. According to DTE, about 1,300 residents around Brown City on the border of Sanilac and Lapeer counties lost power at about 8:30 p.m. Monday because of a reported equipment problem.

The affected area included Brown City, Melvin and parts of surrounding townships, including Lynn and Maple Valley townships in Sanilac County and Burnside Township in Lapeer County. Power was restored later in the evening.
