(SANDUSKY) – During their Wednesday morning meeting this week, the Sanilac County Road Commission approved the purchase of another new dump truck to add to their fleet. The $215,000 truck will arrive sometime next year and give the County 24 trucks that can be used as plow trucks.
Engineer Robb Falls said the trucks are evenly distributed to all of the county garages and the new one will be placed in Peck, once it is put in service. Falls said the Road Commission tries to add two or three trucks each year to the fleet.
In other business, Falls told the board plans are moving forward with two major paving projects scheduled for next year.
Ruth Road, north of M-46 and a stretch of M-19, north of M-46 are scheduled for overlays with the Ruth Road project costing an estimated $730,000 dollars.
The M-19 project will not begin before August, according to county officials. The County will pay a 20% match of the federal funds for the Ruth Road project.
