Police investigate possible illegal marijuana
(TUSCOLA COUNTY) – A 29-year old Cass City man found himself facing an irate property owner after police said the suspect attempted to steal marijuana from a grower.
Caro police responded to the scene shortly after midnight Thursday night when a Caro man reported he was holding a subject he found attempting to steal marijuana plants.
He chased the subject thru the woods and eventually hit him with a baseball bat. Police learned the victim is a medical marijuana caregiver and had been stolen from several times before.
According to authorities, the area where the grow operation was did not meet the guidelines established for caregivers and was illegal.
The suspect was transported to Caro Community Hospital for treatment and later lodged in jail on attempted Breaking and Entering and Trespassing charges.
