Sanilac Deputies respond to three accidents

Police are investigating three weekend accidents

 
The Sanilac County Sheriff Department was kept busy over the weekend, responding to three personal injury accidents. Early Saturday morning, deputies responded to a crash in Argyle Township. Deputies said a 26-year old Applegate man fell asleep while driving around 1 a.m., losing control of his pickup truck.
The truck rolled over and struck an embankment. He was transported to McKenzie Health System for treatment of his injuries. The driver’s name is being withheld pending further investigation.
Around midnight Saturday, Deputies responded to another accident, this one in Sanilac Township after witnesses came up on the crash scene. According to a press release, a 40-year old Carsonville man was driving on Basler Road when he failed to stop at an intersection and lost control of his vehicle.
The driver was transported to McKenzie Health System and later transferred to Covenant Cooper Hospital in Saginaw for further treatment. Port Sanilac fire and Sanilac EMS assisted at the scene. Deputies said speed and alcohol are believed to be possible factors in the crash and the driver’s name is being withheld pending further investigation.
On Sunday, a 42-year old Sandusky man was seriously injured following a one-vehicle accident. Deputies said the man was traveling on Campbell Road and failed to stop at an intersection and struck a tree. The man was taken to McKenzie health System and later flown by helicopter to Covenant Cooper in Saginaw for further treatment of his injuries.
Police said alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident and the name of the driver is not being release pending further investigation. Sandusky fire, police and Sanilac EMS assisted on the scene.
