(Port Huron) – Five Detroit residents were arrested in St. Clair County Sunday morning after an alert resident notified police about suspicious activity in their driveway.
According to a press release from Port Huron police, the suspects were observed cutting a catalytic converter from a vehicle on Kraft Road. After a description was given, Port Huron Police and the St. Clair County sheriff department worked together to make a traffic stop.
Investigation showed the converters had been stolen from several Port Huron area communities and taken to Detroit to be sold for scrap.
The five suspects are lodged in the St. Clair County jail facing multiple felony charges.
