Brown City to drain water tower for maintenance

Residents in Brown City will not notice any work being done in the city’s water tower, according to City Manager Clint Holmes. He told council members the tower is scheduled for inspection and cleaning next week and the DPW will be draining the tower July 18th in preparation for the work. Holmes said pumps will be programmed to operate as necessary to maintain water pressure and the maintenance should be completely transparent.

Also in Brown City news, if organizers have their way, the streets of Brown City could be filled with classic cars cruising up and down Main Street this summer.

City council members will have the final say on whether or not cruise night will actually take place. The proposal calls for the classic cars to hit the street on Thursday nights from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.

If they are granted permission, the cars are set to gather for public viewing throughout the weekly cruise, with the first cruise set for this week.
