Happy birthday Raegan!
(Port Huron Township) A Port Huron Township girl had a different kind of birthday party recently.
Instead of getting gifts for herself, she requested her friends to bring items to donate to the St. Clair County Animal Control Adoption Center.
Raegan Shepherd’s 12th birthday was yesterday and she wanted to do something nice for the animals waiting for adoption to new families.
The result was a bounty of food and toys for the cats and dogs at the adoption center.
“I am so pleased that Raegan thought about the cats and dogs waiting to be adopted,” said Sheriff Donnellon. “This was such a wonderfully selfless act on her part, and her friends really came through with wonderful items for our pets.”
The Sheriff’s Office Animal Control Division has a budget for the essentials for all animals in their care, but donations of items are always gratefully accepted.
